If you bleed green and want to be burried in Moline, you might want to stop reading right now, because today was about the absolute LAST STRAW with a Deere Mart,or WAL-Deere or whatever their business model is for Deere's Super Stores. I had a cracked sleeve in a cyliner on my 1020,genuine Deere part, but that's not the issue. It's a 75 mile round trip to the dealer,I took the sleeve with me. A porky little sh!t with an ear ring in his lip waited on me. I TOLD him, make sure you order the right one, there's a split in the serial numbers. Here's my engine serial number, here's the 2 different numbers on those sleeves. Told him I'd pay the extra $20 to have it drop shipped so I didn't have to go back. It came today and I KNEW,ABSOLUTELY,while I was cutting the tape on the box that it wasn't gonna be right. I was right. Called them,of course there's no more chance of getting the same guy on tha phone than there is at Wal-Mart. This guy just wanted to argue with me and tell me they were all the same. I had to raise my voice a little, but he FINALLY found the split in the serial. He said he'd have it in the morning. Told him it was real d@mned nice I paid the extra shipping and STILL had to drive all that way to exchange it. He really didn't seem to give a rats @ss. That company WILL go the way of GM if they don't make some changes and stop all the consolidation of dealers. I was ALL Deere back when we had a decent local dealer, but that LAST time I had any decent service from that company was just before that dealer closed 20 years ago. This 1020 is ABSOULTELY the last Deere I'll ever own. I'm actively looking for a New Holland or a Massey to replace it. I'm through with this crap.
I'd say sorry for the rant, but if I was sorry,I wouldn't have posted it.

Today's Featured Article - New Hitches For Your Old Tractor - by Chris Pratt. For this article, we are going to make the irrational and unlikely assumption that you purchased an older tractor that is in tip top shape and needs no immediate repairs other than an oil change and a good bath. To the newcomer planning to restore the machine, this means you have everything you need for the moment (something to sit in the shop and just look at for awhile while you read the books). To the newcomer that wants to get out and use the machine for field work, you may have already hit a major roadblock. That is the dreaded "proprietary hitch". With the exception of the
