Dodge Cummins w/ auto for pulling my tractor around???

I'm looking for help on buying a 95 3/4 ton Ram reg. cab with the cummins and an automatic to pull my tractor around. I have a friend who is a tractor mechanic and avid diesel guys and he is really trying to shy me away from the Dodge auto tranny. He says that there is nothing but trouble from them and that I should get a stick. A stick is out of the question for the wife, so it's going to be an auto or nothing. He doesn't have any specific examples of a bad tranny, just things he's heard. Is there any truth to the claims? What are the disadvantages to this tranny? I won't be pulling that much (a couple of snowmobiles and my Farmall 460 tractor once in awhile) so do I really need to worry about it? Thanks for the help
