Well reading through these posts proves one thing.. All of'em have problems of some kind. Fords and Dodges both have tranny probs if anything is done to the motors, if not, they seem to do pretty well. Remember, it is a machine and they do break sometimes. Even the Chevy Allison combo is having some tranny probs, seems they are manufacturing realted not wear though. If you are doing heavy towing and want an auto then take it to a shop that knows how to build the tranny to take it. Enjoy the truck you pick. I drive a dodge 6 speed cummins 3/4 ton 4X4 QuadCab longbed. getting between 17 and 19mpg, only about 2k miles on her.
