Thinking about tilling the soil then planting a thick stand of white clover. Then when planting vegetables, only open up the area where the plant itself goes. Open up just enough area for the tomato plant for example, leaving clover to hold back weeds. The clover also puts nitrogen into soil helping the plants around it. For corn I would just run the planter through the clover. Anyone ever tried this? We do not use any kind of chemicals, runoff from the garden pools and the cattle drink from it.
