On my vegetables I mow several acres with a 3pt flail mower that also collects the clippings at the same time and dump them between the rows and mulch with the clippings hard work to do the mulching but I'm done for the duration of that crop and it holds the moisture,keeps down the weeds.You could til a row in the clover and then mulch over the clover things like tomatoes really feed off mulch like that.Never use any herbicide in a vegetable garden
