Oil question????

I am curious about multiweight oils. I currently own a British Leyland 154. According to the manual the correct oil weight for the engine, transmission and hydraulics is 10W below 32deg.F, 20W between 32F-90F and 30W over 90degrees F. Would it be unwise to use 10W-30 oil in all these areas? Or should I still to the recommended single weight oils.
