Cheapest House Prices in US ?

Now here's a question that I've often wondered about. Where in the country would a person find the least expensive home prices? Let's say a 3-bedroom bungalow,maybe 1200 square feet, nothing too fancy but nice and clean with a double garage. Let's say in a town of at least 5000 people to make things fair. Where would this be located and how much could you expect to pay for a house of this type.
