Of course my 2006 2500hd just turned over 76000 miles and both wheel hub assemblies are going bad. I've been price shopping(it also needs tires pretty bad so I'm about to be out a lot of money), rockauto.com has their house brand Value Pro for about $92 each. Of course it's made in China. Next is a Raybestos assembly for about $165 each, still made in China. They also have a Moog for about $174 each and it's made in Korea. Finally they have an SKF for about $216 each and its made here in the states. Add about $25 for shipping on each brand(for two assemblies). They all have a 12 month warranty on them.
Napa has the best deal locally with there NAPA brand for $140 and its made in China. They also have the SKF for about $247. I always try to buy the American made one, but wow, $500 in wheel bearings plus another $1000 in tires, just don't know if I can swing it or not. If I don't go with the SKF's, which is the better of the cheap ones? I'm leaning towards rockauto but if the bearings fail again within 12 months, I have to pay return shipping, which would put me at about the break even point. Decisions....any suggestions?
