The store is private property and they can banish anyone they like.... same as you or me. That said... it's not too bright of them to do that. Sounds like a job for the local TV 'On your side' type segment where they 'investigate' consumer complaints and attempt to embarass the business into backing down, etc. Normally I tend to think they're a bunch of vultures but perhaps in cases like this the store would back down pretty quick and come to some sort of settlement...
