Thank goodness I've finally got some work. Being self employeed as a heavy equipment mechanic my business had a sudden slow down, then it flat out died back around October of last year. Fortunately until now I've kept busy fixing up and selling equipment I've collected over the years along with a few little jobs here and there. I've been able to keep afloat doing that but just barely. Finally I got a call Friday from a guy wanting me to work for him for the next three months on an industrial project. I'll be working directly for him as an employee, not as an independent, so the pay isn't nearly what I am used to but it's guaranteed. Thankfully, or not, the hours are 9PM til 7AM 5 days a week (and the overtime is paid at time and a half which is good)so I'll still have the daylight hours and weekends to take care of my own business...if I can stay awake........Hopefully this will tied me over until spring when things should be picking back up from what I've been hearing from my customers and the upcoming jobs they have been bidding on.

Now I've just got to get my body adjusted from working all day and sleeping all night to doing just the opposite between now and Wednesday. I've been staying up late alot already mainly just stressed because of the lack of work but now I've got to step it up and get my body clock set right so I can handle a 10 hour work night.

Ok, anybody got any suggestions on how to get myself to sleep in the mornings when I get home. I worked third shift years ago but I was alot younger and more resiliant then...LOL My plan is to come home and sleep and then get up and do my own work before going in to the 'new' job for the night. I've thought about melatonin as it has been recently recommended to my daughter by her therapist and pediatrician to to help her sleep and better cope with the stress placed on her with the mess with her biological father. Personally I have never tried it and was curious as to anyone who had and what results did you see with it. Beyond that any ideas on getting wound down and getting to sleep, (short of drinking a few becuae I don't drink) would be greatly appreciated.
