I saw on Yahoo before bed that he had passed. Never was into Bonanza growing up. However, the past couple winters I've had ample time to watch it on the satellite TV. I have a different perspective on that show now. Obviously no show is perfect in terms of portraying real life but I find myself drawn to it because of its depiction of a simpler time and a strong family dynamic. Too bad the last surviving "Cartwright" thought so poorly of the show but I have to say the show was much better with him than without him. Anyways, my hat is off to you in respect for what you contributed.
