RANT: My wife and oil changes- please comment

Before I got married in October, my wife was terrible to her car. Hardly ever changed the oil, just abusive. Well that car died.
We went out and got another car on the condition that maintennance would be done to the car. Tell me when you are 200 miles from the amount on the sticker and I'll take it in and get the oil changed.
Apparently this is too much to ask.
Am I alone on this subject or are some of ya'll in the same boat?
