OT: Lazy people and tansmissions????

I work for a company that gets the GM supplier discount for all its employees. I've been considering a new truck so I logged on to the supplier website, built a new 2500hd with the diesel. Only option was the Allison, no choice for a manual shift. So I called the local dealer and he said yep, GM was not offering a manual shift in 3/4 or 1 ton trucks anymore, said they weren't selling any of them. Are people so lazy that they won't shift gears for themselves?? For $40,000 you'd think you could get what you want. Guess I'll have to look at the Dodge. I think we get 1% belowe invoice on them, not as good as the GM but oh well, no use for an automatic here....
