But again, this was not intended to be a bash on GM or people who need auto's, more a bash on suburbanites who own a 2 acre lot and like to pull their lawn "tractor" around the suburb with their new diesel. I agree, those people shouldn't have the option of a manual shift......... After reading the title on your post some people might think that you should not have the option of owning a keyboard or a computator. I will agree with you on not being able to buy a manual transmission. Many of us on here learned to drive a three on the tree, that is what was considered a standard in those days. Just as that has become obsolete the manual shift transmissions are on their way out, they are being replaced by something better, that has proven itself. So I would encourage you to do a little asking around and driving a truck with an automatic that is set up to pull a load if you get a chance. You just might realize there is something better than what has always been. And for Pete's sake stop bashing yuppies buying those new diesels with automatics. That makes it easier to find a good used vehicle.
