No offense, old, but 3 inches at 25 yards is 12 inches at 100 yards. Even standing, I have no problem keeping my shots in a 12 inch circle shooting my M-14, and it has iron sights. I have two scoped Model 70 Winchesters that will consistently shoot inside a half inch circle off the bench. If your rifle can't group better than 12 minutes of angle off the bench, something is wrong with the rifle, scope, mounts, ammo or shooter.
