OT Dodge truck engines

I"m in the process of researching for my next truck purchase. I"d love to have a Dodge w/ the Cummins diesel, but what about the V10 or 360/V8? Anyone have experience, good or bad, with these engines? Reliability, mileage, parts availability, etc. I"m hoping to find a manual trans, but have seen a lot of autos. Do the trans have any problems like they do behind the Cummins? Thanks for any and all help, Rich
