Liquid Glass to fix cracked head?

Has anyone ever heard of a product called "liquid glass" being used to seal a cracked head? I had a guy tell me it worked on an old truck head and he swears by it. It is sold in pharmacies. I'm not sure what the intended use is but this sounds a little far fetched. Any others heard of this before?
