Ron, That 454 is not a drop in at all. In addition to the items you mentioned, the water pump, the altenator mounting, all the belts and pulleys, the dampner, the starter, the motor mounts, the fan, the shroud, fan clutch, fuel pump, power steering mounting, the complete exhaust system and air cleaner assy will all have to be changed. If the sub does not now have the THM400, then the drive shaft and rear yoke will have to be swapped out as well. If it is a 4X4, then the tansfercase adaptor will be completely different. Then, when he gets all done, he will probably get around 7mpg. The only "common" thing between these two setups is the bolt pattern on the bell housing. Been there, done that. Allan
