3pt Backhoe attachment Has anybody used one?

I was wondering if anybody has ever used a 3pt backhoe on a tractor and what you thought of it. Did it do a good job? How much can you do with them? If I bought this one it would be used in hard ground (not loose dirt) for digging, and pulling stumps, things of that nature. Wouldn't be digging a basement but still putting it through it's paces. Also does anybody know what an old used one in good condition goes for at auction? Thanks for all info.
