Chris, I think the wise Mr. Goof is correct. A bucket on the front of a tractor is a poor substitute for a loader and a hoe on the back of a tractor is no improvement. If you want to trench a little and grub around a bit by golly it beats a shovel. (Goof's mom-in-law not withstanding) Around here they seem to get 3-5 grand for them. The better models have brackets that place some of the stress on the forward frame. These seem pretty tractor specific though. I won't kid you I want one. But my rule of thumb is to not purchase equipment that is smarter than me. I'm sure I'd tear my SMTA up if I stuck one on it. I'd always be trying to do more than it was actually designed for. If you get one, lets us know how you make out.
