Ford Truck Auto Transmission

Transmission makes chattering sound on last upshift in my 97 F150. One very good transmissoin mechanic with a quick temper who will answer only your first question truthfully and politely told me to change fluid. Another good mechanic said to add a bottle of GM limited slip differential additive. This last remedy I did but the chattering continues. I cannot see how draining transmission and leaving converter filled with dirty or old fluid would help much. Another said many do this and is not especially serious but scares some people. If you know of this problem please let me know.
