LP runs cleaner than gasoline or diesel because there is no liquid fuel going into the cylinders that can wash down to the oil. You can run them longer between oil changes since the oil doesn't get diluted. I take it you don't have LP (propane) heat in your house, but you could get set up to fuel right from your own bulk tank. You should be able to lease a bulk tank from a local co-op fairly cheap. Also, some co-ops will come right out to your farm to fill your tractor (at least around here anyways). I believe the tanks on the LP tractors should be big enough to run them as long as the same tractor on gasoline. The cost of LP varies, sometimes during the summer months around here is is around $0.50 per gallon up to over $1.25 per gallon during the cold winter months. In my opinion, LP is a better fuel than gasoline and diesel because it burns cleaner and is safer for the environment. However, a diesel engine is more efficient, and gas and diesel are safer to fuel than LP. I'm sure others will have more to add. These are just my experiences with LP.
