This isn't tractor related but I've come to respect the opinion of the people here. I plan to build a new home in a few years and am starting to think about how to heat. On my land I have about 35 acres wooded so I would have an endless supply of fire wood but I hate the mess in the house. I've noticed quite a few ads for wood burning furnaces ( boilers ) that are set up outside the home and piped inside. Pros as I see it: *It takes large round wood so most won't have to be split. *They claim 12 to 24 hour burn time. *Mess stays outside. *They conect to most existing systems. *Much less handling of wood. Cons: ? I don't know the price of them yet but was wondering if anyone has any experiance with them. Is this just a fad or is it something to consider. I'm located in northern Maine so efficiant heating is a top priority of mine. Thanks for any comments.
