Hydraulic Unit Without a Tractor

I am about to start working on my senior design project (ag. engineering) at Texas A&M and think I'm thinking of designing a self contained hydraulic unit. This would primarily be used to lift discs, shredders, mowers and other implements that require hydraulics to be lifted, so that they could be towed behind a pickup. Something like an engine and a hydraulic pump to plug remote cylinder hoses into that could be portable and easily lifted onto a pickup truck bed. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this at all (I CAN'T copy anything) Thanks for your help guys.
