I didn't start texting until 4-5 years ago when a good repeat customer told me that I needed to and showed me how to do it on my flip phone. Another customer has on his voicemail message to follow up with a text if you need prompt response. I don't try to judge people's reasons for why they prefer texting, but I believe that I can get a message to someone with a text much less intrusively than by 'phone, so I am happy with that. I do believe that refusal to text just so that you can get your ornery old phart card punched for another year is being just plain full of pride and ARROGANCE.
