My wife and I were walking down the main street in Virginia City, Nevada a while back and we heard this wonderful Marty Robins type Western music coming from this one establishment and just wondered in to see what was going on. We were told that all the locals have outfits styled from back in the 1800's and a few will show up at this saloon every day with these garbs on. I have been in places before when I thought a few people were "Packing Heat" but was never so obvious. I talked to the gentleman with the Civil War uniform on and asked him what did the state of Nevada have to do with the Civil War. He said that President Lincoln sent us out here to protect the proceeds from the Comstock Mine as this is what was financing our arms purchases. I told him that if he needed any back up help that I thought Ben Cartright and his boys from the Ponderosa Ranch would be here at any time now. I thought my wife would choke on her popcorn when she noticed the guy next to her had a shoulder holster on. On the way back to where we were staying she asked my why would all those people have all those guns and I said that is so nobody comes and loots the place. She informed that there were not any looters within a hundred miles of here. I said "Good Remedy isn't it." This place is a hoot. Maybe some of you have been there. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Tom
