I didn't want to hi-jack post on epa and wood. There is a local college, Saint Marys of the Woods that heats with wood chips. They use a hi tech EPA approved boiler that cleanly burn wood chips. You can't see or smell a thing. Some how they heat the chips to a very high temp before burning.
They make wood chips from tree branches that the local community drops off, Free of Charge. It's a win win. College gets a cheap heating source and we are glad to get rid of our tree waste.
It seems to me this could be a cheap way for schools, government offices and other colleges to save money and reduce land fill waste, tree branches.
Like everything else, there has to be some people that might be against this. Never heard locals complaing, instead they are glad. Well there is one complaint, The college has too many chips and they don't take branches all the time.
