I have had thousands of eggs leave the farm in the years I have done chickens. I always put the egg basket in the fridge in the garage after I gather and every few days I wash them up and package them.
NONE of my neighbors refridgerate their eggs. Some have them on the stove for quick use. One has 50 hens and sells eggs and she never refrigerates them even if they are around for days before sale.
What do you all do? I just read on the net that someone said she doesn't wash hers until she is going to use them and doesn't chill them. She says she has used some that are months old. It seems to be related more to upbringing than anything.
