how many miles is a 7.3 PS good for?

I just came across a 2000 F-250 that is fairly cheap. Its got the 7.3 and a 6 speed transmission in it, extended cab and 8 foot box, had a bit of body work done recently but looks decent. The kicker is that its got 460,000km(just shy of 286,000miles) on it. Its my neighbours truck so i see it and hear it all the time and it seems to start and run fine even in this colder weather we have been having.

So how far will these things go and what would it be worth in your eyes?
