I went out and changed the oil and put the wheel weights on the 230 today (now the snow is going away I put the weights on...DOH!). Anyway took it out for a "spin" and after about 1/4 mile (in 3rd), it sputtered and died as if fuel starved. Babied it back to barn in 100 yard increments as it stalled out 4 times. Not the carb float, but when I took the sediment bowl off and cleaned it, and upon putting it back and turning on the gas, it just dripped....Took about 2 minutes to fill up!! OK, mechanics out there: In the center of the petcock (thing that gas comes out of into the bowl), it appears to have a slotted head as if a flat screwdriver would fit in it. Can this be turned in/out to get the offending sediment clog (I assume) out of the petcock, or am I going to have to take the whole thing out, or take off the gas tank to clear it. HELP ME!! BobG in VA. Note for Stan(VA). Yes, I'll come by and see you about the oil filter one of these days.
