Greets from Mississippi. I own a 1952 Ford 8N in pretty much original condition, other than the engine being rebuilt. The hydraulic lift abruptly ceased operating and after studying the manual I concluded that perhaps the most likely problem was that trash had stuck the relief valve open. As part of the process of removing the hydraulic pump, I was stumped no sooner than I had gotten to the PTO shaft . . . it would not come out. I've been told that sometimes the shaft becomes twisted and has to be cut from inside. What say y'all? Would putting a slam-hammer on it and trying to yank it out be an unwise move? Thanks!
