The other day I was dragging a field, parked the tractor and all was well until I went out to use it again a couple days later. It wouldn't start, no spark. In my research I determined the points weren't opening very far if at all. Turns out that the rubbing block was wore (mine doesn't have an oiling pad on it) and there was no grease on the lobes. What disturbed me most was the excessive wobble in the distributor shaft. I could change the point setting at least .0040 if not more by simply wiggling the shaft, enough to readily see it by eye. I can't know which way to adjust the points so I assumed the points would push the distributor shaft over so I adjusted them that way and I got the tractor working. I am not happy with all the wear. It seems there is a bushing in the distributor you can replace, probably by removing the roll pin on the bottom of the distributor. Has anyone done this? If not, do you know a source of good distributors? Thanks! Lew
