This is a duplicate post for one on "TRACTOR TALK". It was suggested to be to post it on the CASE forum as well. I am going to include the reposes I already have from the tractor talk forum. *************************************** I recently purchased a 1070. It seems to work OK during spring field cultivating and planting. However, every now and then when shifting the power shift from 1st to 2nd, it would seem to miss, as if it was shifted into neutral. It would usually grab a second or two later lifting the front end up. Second to third always seems to work OK. The transmission does not seem to slip in any gear or range. During haying this summer, the misses have gotten more frequent. Also, once or twice, I while planting 60 acres, I pressed the clutch in and the transmission did not seem to disengage. It only did it twice and has not done it since. Does this symptom sound familiar? Any ideas what may be the issue, how I narrow it down and how expensive will it be to fix? Where can I get parts? ***************************************** kent b PostPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 9:21 pm Post subject: Re: Case 1070 Power Shift problem Reply to specific post Reply with quote Sounds like it could be a poppit in the power shift valve. They can get a little bit of metal shavings in there and stick. Take them out and clean them with brake clean and a rag. I have done this and it works. My clutch on a 2390 did the same thing and it would hesitate in the power shift, i took them out and cleaned them. Works great now.

My 1070 was worse than that when it came here . not only was the p/s cables way out of whack .. Previous O ,, JAmmed the range selector up bad , to where it only had 2nd and 4th range . those minor problems made the tractor a cheap buy for me .. sent it to friendly case/ihc dealer, who had all in order in 12 work shop hours .. the CASE p/shift automatically should return to 1st from any forward gear 2nd or 3rd ,, to decrease wear on delicate cable adjustments mechanics told me long ago to physically ues the hand selector for each shift . up as well as down shifting ... case p/ashift is not supposed to return to 1st automaticaly EVER ,when in reverse ,,,think About it ,,, That would be He!! on any being mechanical or human ,, these issues could be answered best over on Case forum.. i FEEL THAT THE CABLE ADJUSTMENTS NEED FINE TUNING ,, . AI/T book can walk you thru it...

Today's Featured Article - Search For Spares - by Anthony West (UK). Following on from the aquisition of the old Fordson F, I was very much in need of spares. As a novice though I didn't appreciate the fact that there were so many Fordson tractors made, that all the other makes seem rare by comparison. As far as I was aware a fordson was a fordson and it was only through trial an
