A friend asked me if I would haul about a ton of steam engine flues home for him. The trip is about 200mi. one way. There is a 4000# tractor I am interested in 40 miles further down the road that I would pass up but if I got some help with fuel I could kill two birds with one stone. I would take a trailer either way. I would not make this trip if it were not for getting his flues and I feel that the use of my Dodge dsl and trailer is worth something. I was thinking it would be fair if he would pay a percentage of the fuel. What would be fair? I thought at least 50%. I would appreciate any sincere replies, if you have a smart alleck comment keep it to your self please.
