Have any of ya'll ever pondered on what our ancestors of 100 or more years ago would think if they would see our country's infrastructure and society now?
My father was raised by his grandparents and a bachelor uncle, "Hank". (Great-uncle of mine). In 1915, Hank bought a brand new 1915 Model T Ford, hand crank as were all vehicles of the day.
Shortly thereafter, my father sat in on a bull session with Hank and a number of other men. When the conversation turned to cars, Hank predicted, "The day will come when you just push a button and your engine will start". The rest of the group laughed at him.
What if they could come back to Earth today? Hank died in 1933, so he did live to see the day of electric starters.
