Well, I know that if my granddad came back to his farm today, he would never recognize the place. He died in 1945, before I was born. Since then only one building remains, and it is remodeled so that all resemblance to what it was back then is gone. All other buildings are replaced with new, Barn, new 1952, house 1960, henhouse/granary - now replaced with polebarn 1990. Hog house gone. Fields combined, most all fencerows gone. He would have a real problem with anything but the lay of the land. took my Dad and my son and me to make all those changes! Then there"s the little matter of Shetland sheep, North American llamas, and angora goats. Sure he never saw any of those in his lifetime. Far cry from guernsey cows, work horses, pigs, and chickens!
