brush hogging saplings

I took a look at some lots a realtor wants brush hogged. Parts of them are covered with saplings up to 3/4 inch in diameter and a few saplings per square foot. These saplings are 5 foot or more in height.He only needs some paths cut through these saplings. My first concern is about tearing up the tires on the stubble. I would probably back in to avoid hitting the radiator or hoses. I got an old
JD 503 mower on an Oliver 550. Anyone ever mowed through saplings?
