Hi Bob, I overhauled my MC fan assembly, but it is oil filled. The bell-shaped piece has a filler tube that goes quite far in, and is supposed to be filled to a level that won't run back out the tube. The shaft has spiral grooves and a dipper to pick up the oil. I have a 2nd unit I didn't use sitting in my garage. Are we talking about the same assembly here ? I can scan and send you the diagram from I&T, but it seems you may have an early unit, as opposed to my later model unit which was used on late M/MC and all MT tractors. Let me know if you'd like the diagram, or assistance finding a good late-model unit. Hope this helps, RonMC
