Listening to high school football on the radio in a tractor or combine on friday nights. Stepping out of the cab into the sweet smelling air seasoned with cornstalks, soil, diesel exhaust, and hot hydraulic fluid. Just the right amount of chill in the air. Tromp through the corn stubble to my truck at the edge of the field and go meet some friends at the high school ball game. Get a seat in the back of somebody's pickup parked at the sidelines with all the other pickups lined up the same way.
Yup, fall's my favorite time of the year. I think I'm gonna miss doing that stuff this fall.
