lawn mower batteries............ which brand is the best?

My dad has a 318 john deere lawn mower. The battery went bad in it. We haven't had any luck with the john deere strongbox batteries. We would use the mower more in the summer(to mow lawn) and maybe some in the winter (to blow snow). My question to you guys and gals is which battery do you think will last the longest, and perform the best? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
