Tire fluid question, one with, one without.

I've got a Massey 333 that is used mostly in the winter to move snow. One of the rear tires has fluid, the other one doesn't. I've noticed that I get better traction with the fluid filled tire as expected, however a guy told me that running it this way is very hard on the tractor, that is on the differential and perhaps the tranny. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this situation?
