Little help from a tractor/mechanical wise person if you please...TO30, Gas, converted to 12v...Didn't get cranked for several months as it sits under a heavy tarp outside on property a few hours from where I live...Prior to this, it started quickly the last time...Weekend 1 - Hooked up a battery and tried to turn over. Battery post/wire started heating up and smoking a bit. Didn't turn over, nothing. Ended up rocking the tractor back and forth and it seemed to resist at first then rocked back and forth more easily. Hit the switch and it cranked right up. Turned it off and cranked again several more times. Weekend 2 - Cranked right up and used for a short time. Needed new oil so I changed the oil while warm and then tried to start again..Same thing happened. Nothing at first. Rocked tractor back and forth but didn't seem to resist this time. Tried to crank again, nothing at first and then after a few trys it slowly turned over and cranked up...Starter going bad or solenoid? Both? Any other advise/tests? Thanks in advance!
