I've got a Caclium filled tire, new tire, new rim been on there since '02, been real careful with these so as not to spring an internal leak from a puncture, but as my luck sometimes is, the darned valve seemed to have leaked maybe since '02 I replaced the core and it still leaks, not sure what the deal is, but obviously it will need a tube, and I'd like to make sure the rim is not taking on any CA CL, clean and re-paint if needed.

So what I was wondering, if the valve was leaking on the outside, being that the air pressure should seal up around the stem hole, any chance of liquid back tracking inside and causing probelems? I see some rust on the outside, tire guy told me it would stop, screwed up here and should ahve dealt with it then.

Also wondering what the best way to do this on my own, I've always bit the bullet and used the tire guy, but I'd like to be able to deal with the rim while the tire is deflated, obviously I need a look in there to see what's up. I've got a different tire guy now, real nice guy, but like the rest of us, saving a buck when you can is always nice.

Isn't there an adapter for filling tires, assume it works in reverse ? I read the post about draining them down, but have to save the fluid and re-use. It's on a job in a heated building, so now is the time to get r done.
