OT: Skunk in barn

I need advice. I have a skunk that has gotten down inside a steel garbage can that is empty in my barn. It is used to store cat food, but the bag was almost empty. Now the problem is it can't get back out because it is to far in the bottom to pull itself out.
I really don't want this thing to spray, because all of our horse tack is right around it and I don't want it ruined. (5 sadles and a driving harness) If there is any way that you guys can think of to get this critter out alive, I'd do that and then dispose of it outside the barn. I got one last week with the .243 and that worked real well. Instant death, no spray.
I'm need'n advice! I'll be gone most of the day, but I'm guess'n that skunk will still be there when I get home and I'll still have to deal with it. Thanks
