O/T GM Fuel Pump

I know this is not related to tractors, but I need help on my GMC sufari van (same as Chevy Astro Van)It's my wife's van. It is a 99 model. Yesterday she was driving up a hill and it started cutting out. The van came home without any more problems. I am thinking fuel pump,but with around 50,000 is too soon for the pump to go out. Pump's in the tank. O for the good old days when you pulled a line off the mechicanel pump if it shot gas across your fender it was good. Thanks for any help Stan in calif
