Some time back this subject came up and I said if John Deer had an egine that had what it took to try the transmission we might find out how much the tranny could take. Some one got real upset about that, well yesterday at the Iowa state fair I got the real story and seams as though I was right all alone. John Deer had big trouble clear back in 1966 with there engines not standing up as they should. Had r trouble with timing gears and camshaft. Could not keep the gear tight on the shaft and broke shafts as well. No names here but the gut I talked to had the Deer people in his house and just about got two fired over the deal for not taking care of the problem before they did. Just want to make sure we are straight on this John Deer ain"t always perfect as we would be lead to believe.
