Blockheater

I'd like to put a blockheater in my JD 6200, but there is no hole in the block to do so. I'm not incredibly fond of tank heaters, so that leaves me with a lower radiator hose heater. Has anyone any advice for or agaist these? Other suggestions would be helpful. I have been using a magnetic heater, but it's not the same. Thanks, Jeff
