Probibly yes. What brand oil and what brand diesel engines? Take care choosing synthetic oil,untill very recently,only Mobil 1 and Amsoil were genuine synthetic oil made from synthetic base stock. Some oil companies use mineral oil base stock refined by a special process and call it synthetic oil. Mobil took em to court over that one,but was not able to stop them from marketing this stuff as synthetic oil.
My experience is with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I run 0-30 in all my gas engine stuff in the temperature range you describe. The stuff has worked out well at high or low temps and at very high loads. Mobil 1 makes synthetic atf,GL5 gear oil,steering fluid and motor oil in various weights 0-20,0-30,0-40,5-20,5-30,10-30,10-40,15-50 and more. I have used the gear oil in rear ends and manual transmissions with good results,especially in cold weather. My Shelbourne Reynolds stripper header says to ONLY use Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil in it's gear boxes.
Check your operators manuals to see what spec oil your diesel engines need. You should find what you need in a Mobil 1 oil or a Mobil Delvac 1 oil. I was really sold on 0-30 Mobil 1 when I found I could hear the oil slosh around when I shook a jug at -10F.
