The beans are considered to be unsafe to eat. We always plant a few near our sweet potatoes to keep the moles away. Incidentally in the link and in your letter the word CASTOR bean has been incorrectly spelled. it is not CASTER bean. I am sure the toxic material has been somewhat refined and is not the bean. Potato plants are also unsave to eat. I would be hesitant to eat a tomato plant or as pepper plant. A peach seed is also unsafe for humans to eat. Not being critical and I admire you for using caution.
