Allan, Yes, the tractor has both 540 & 1000 shafts that can be interchanged on his 80hp JD. He claims that his brand new 8' finish mower blades just don't spin fast enough and he has to mow very slowly. He thinks that adapting it to 1000 will spin the blades much faster and thus he can mow faster. Someone else responded saying that changing the shaft will not actually change the rate at which the mower operates, in which case, this does him no good. Is that so?
